Blog of Guatemala Mission Trip – 2025

Arrival – Saturday, November 1

After checking in, we visited the Orphanage. Be sure to check out the photo gallery for the wonderful pictures.

Sunday, November 2

We worshiped with Access Church

Monday, November 3

We got to the village around 9:30am and met/prayed with our families. Our house builds are beside each other, which offered up some healthy competition. We ended day one at 3:00pm. Check out the progress in the photo gallery! Headed back to CRI for showers and dinner.

Tuesday, November 4

Great progress on the houses today. Walls completed, roof trusses on. We did a half day in the village and then went back to CRI for fortified rice packing. EAMC paid for the rice and the team packed boxes for 2,080 meals.

Wednesday, November 5

Today was VBS in our village (Santa Maria de Jesus). Over seventy came and heard a gospel message, sang songs, played frisbee, soccer and participated in relay races. We ended our time with snacks, of course, and goodbye hugs and high fives. (Be sure to check the photo gallery to see our transportation to VBS.)

Thursday, November 6

This morning our devotion was led by Gus Gillespie before we prayed and headed to our final day in Santa Maria de Jesus. We finished the houses around noon – complete with curtains and other items for the families made by our very own Kingdom Crafters. House dedications with the families were so special with singing, praying and words of love exchanged thanks to our interpreters. Hugs and goodbyes were said as we made our way back to the CRI church plant (Iglesia Evangelica el Santuario) where we spent time with several village families that some team members sponsor. As the bus pulled away, the team was already discussing plans for next year and an opportunity to share our story of being Christ’s hands and feet with other affiliates. Several of our team leave in the morning while the rest will return Saturday after a day in Antigua tomorrow. Please pray for our safety and for logistics with the recent airline delays. There will be a short report Sunday at the beginning of worship and more information forthcoming about an event early next year to hear more. The team thanks all who prayed and made this trip possible with their generosity.
