Ready, set, go! This newsletter is filled with opportunities for you, your spouse, your sons and daughters, your grandchildren, your friends, your neighbors and your newest acquaintances. Come to the Chapel!
May 7this the National Day of Prayer followed by our annual Choir Sunday on May 10th. June 1 our summer youth ministers arrive and begin their summer activities for children and teens. June 14thkicks off the first 8:00AM worship service on the beach for this summer season. June 16this the beginning of the Women’s Summer Bible Study in the morning, and the June Covered Dish Dinner that night at the Assembly Building. Year-round activities include Friday morning Bible study for women and men, choir, handbells, Sunday school, and 10:00AM Sunday worship. Why is it important to come?
Heather Adams, contributing writer for Bible Study Tools, explains in her article, “Why Do We Go To Church”, that God calls us to this “holy habit” of “congregating” for several vital reasons. He designed us to live in relationship, with Him and with other believers, and church is where we celebrate how God works in and around us as a community. Our time at church should encourage and equip us. It’s where we give God worship, receive His Word and prepare to take His love out into the world. We can do all these good activities on our own, but spending regular time with our church families will multiply the impact we have for our Lord.
The Bible says:
“Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another — and all the more as you see the Day approaching”Hebrews 10:23-25
“I proclaim your saving acts in the great assembly; I do not seal my lips, Lord, as you know. I do not hide your righteousness in my heart; I speak of your faithfulness and your saving help. I do not conceal your love and your faithfulness from the great assembly”Psalm 40:9-10
“I rejoiced with those who said to me, ‘Let us go to the house of the Lord.’Psalm 122:1
So, let’s gather! The details of these exciting opportunities are in this newsletter. Read on. Mark your calendars. I will see you there!

REFLECTIONS
Endings Bring New Beginnings
Have you ever noticed that when you end something it is usually followed with something new? Graduations mark the end of schooling followed by starting a new career. Weddings mark the end of single life and the beginning of a united life. Spring marks the end of Winter and the beginning of Summer.
In the church year, Good Friday marks the end of Christ’s earthly life and Easter marks the beginning of His resurrected life. For the past 29 weeks our Men’s Bible Study class, which meets on Friday mornings, has been studying the Book of Acts. It begins with the ascension of Jesus into heaven, followed by the disciples receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost and ending with the Apostle Paul under house arrest in Rome.
As I prepared to teach the last lesson in the last chapter of Acts, I asked myself this question- Why did Luke end this book with these words: “For two whole years Paul stayed therein his own rented house and welcomed all who came to see him. Boldly and without hindrance he preached the kingdom of God and taught about the Lord Jesus Christ” (Acts 28: 30-31)? This does not sound like an ending, but rather the beginning of something new.
For Luke never mentions the death of Paul at the hands of the Roman emperor Nero. Nor does he mention anything about the church in Rome or the people who were with Paul like Barnabas or himself. Why? Because endings bring new beginnings. Luke wanted his readers to know that the end of Acts is just the beginning of something new, the church age- our time. The story of the acts of the followers Jesus is still being written today.
For example, here at Emma Anderson Memorial Chapel the end of our summer 8 o’clock service in the chapel marks the beginning of our summer 8 o’clock service on the beach. Endings bring new beginnings. Starting June 14, come join us for worship on the beach. Come be a part of sharing God’s love with our beach neighbors and vacationers. Endings bring new beginnings.
Come anytime during this hour to pray. A prayer guide will be provided in the vestibule for your convenience. The theme this year is “Glorify God among the Nations; Seeking Him in all generations” The key verse is I Chronicles 16:24

Hello, my name is Karlie Hickson! I am currently finishing my master’s in business administration at Liberty University. Originally from Centreville, Maryland, I am stoked to spend my second summer serving as the Youth Minister for Emma Anderson Memorial Chapel!
Hi! My name is Addie Williams, and I am a rising junior at Liberty University. I grew up in Raleigh, NC, and have spent many summers visiting Topsail Beach—a place that holds a special place in my heart.
Our EAMC Summer Youth Program will officially kick off on Monday, June 1st. For the latest updates, details, and announcements, please be sure to follow us on Facebook and Instagram.
We are excited to announce that the Women’s Summer Bible Study will be doing a book by Jennifer Rothschild entitled “Heaven.” In this 7-session study, Jennifer explores the subject of Heaven from a biblical perspective. KINGDOM CRAFTERS
Kingdom Crafters are continuing to keep busy and our current focus is on filling requests for the shoe boxes for October. So far we have donated: seven scrunchies, two headbands, 21 crocheted flowers on hair clips, 14 small purses, one pair of fingerless mittens, and 12 teddy bears. Here is just a sample of them.
In addition to these items, one afghan was finished and will be given to Lauren’s Hope, and seven large shopping bags will be given to Share the Table for their shoppers. They loved the ones we did last time. We also gave Novant 24 baby hats for their nursery.
We now have grand Kingdom Crafters! Some of an affiliate’s grandchildren are making our hair scrunchies – how cool is that – a new generation of Kingdom Crafters. And one affiliate has completed all the curtains for Guatemala Mission Trip! Hallelujah!!
A Joyful Easter Celebration and Upcoming Fellowship Opportunities
We were blessed with a wonderful turnout and beautiful weather for our annual Easter Egg Hunt! It was truly a joyful time of fellowship for families and children alike. A heartfelt thank you goes to Lisa Godwin, who shared an engaging and meaningful children’s message, and to Julia Sherron, who warmly welcomed everyone and extended an invitation to join us for either the Sunrise Service or our traditional Easter Service the following morning. Julia also encouraged families to stay connected through our exciting Youth Programs planned for this summer.
Looking ahead, we are excited to announce several opportunities for fellowship in the coming months. Please mark your calendars for our Covered Dish Dinner on Tuesday, June 16, at 6:00 p.m., which will be held at the Assembly Building. Everyone is invited to bring a favorite dish and enjoy an evening of food, conversation, and community.
In addition, we will be hosting two Meet & Greets following the 10:00 a.m. service on June 7 and September 27. These gatherings are a great chance to connect with one another, welcome new faces, and strengthen relationships within our church family.
We look forward to spending more meaningful time together as we continue celebrating faith, fellowship, and community.
