Operation Christmas Child
A “Shoebox” Ministry
Since 2009, EAMC donors and volunteers have participated in Operation Christmas Child, a ministry of Samaritan’s Purse, the international Christian relief and evangelism organization.
Chapel affiliates fill approximately 100 shoeboxes with special gifts that are then dropped off at a local collection center in November. And every December, between 40-50 affiliates and friends of the Chapel volunteer at the Samaritan’s Purse Processing Center in either Boone or Charlotte, N.C. We join tens of thousands of volunteers across the United States who carefully inspect millions of shoeboxes before they are placed in cartons for shipment around the world.
Samaritan’s Purse uses these shoeboxes to bring joy and the Good News of the Lord Jesus Christ to children, their families and their communities. It doesn’t just end with the shoebox gift. Millions of boys and girls will participate in a 12-lesson, follow-up discipleship program where they can learn to follow Christ and share Him with others.
